Manchester United on Tuesday, won their appeal over Bruno Fernandes’ red card for a tackle on James Maddison.

The Football Association has now overturned his three-match ban.

The midfielder went on to protest that the foul was “never a red card” after the game and United subsequently appealed against the decision.

The Football Association (FA) has now confirmed that he will not have to serve a suspension.

Fernandes’ red card, which was the third of the 30-year-old’s career, meant he was to be suspended for his team’s matches against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham, but he will be available for head coach Erik ten Hag after the FA’s decision.
