2 min readChief chukwudi Elvis Okonji, the chief executive officer of GPC energy and logistics l.t.d,a logistic firm which specialises in handling extensively various manners of haulage briefs, was last weekend in “Owu Kingdom” ,Ogun state, conferred with the title; the Babalaje of Papalanto land. This feat, however, places him rightly as the grand commander, chambers of commerce in Papalanto land.
Chief Elvis before this time, has had a successful career in the banking industry where he rose as senior manager credit and marketing in the defunct bank PHB, now transformed to Keystone Bank. In a manner denoting great courage and resilience, he started GPC energy and logistics in 2009, a carefully nurtured dream, which have now giving birth to four other companies and now serving as a group.
His unarguably great passion for logistics had virtually seen him traveling round the globe to study, research on strategies and clear cut techniques on how to improve greatly on the business.
Currently, the logistic giant is handling haulage contracts successfully for Lafarge, PZ Cusson plc and Scoa Nigeria, with a well over 250 active trucks in its fleet.
Remarkably, Chief Okonji, because of his passionate appeal and love for mankind and humanity in general, had for so long instituted a charity organization called Okonji Chukwudi Elvis Foundation, which has granted innumerable scholarships to indigent students and the less privileged, a character trait which is truly of his personality and similar ground breaking stunts, that have now reputably earned him recognition from the rightful quarters.
