Why UEFA Bans Patrice Evra
1 min readUEFA has banned Patrice Evra from all European tournaments until June 30, 2018.
He is to pay 10,000 euros as fines.
The playmaker ended his career with Marseille on Friday after his infamous karate kick on one of his own fans.
Marseille said they and the 36-year-old had both agreed that the former Manchester United and French international would leave by “mutual consent”.
Evra became the first player in Europa League history to be sent off before the start of a football match.
He was sent off after a vicious bust up with his own fans before Marseille’s Europa League against Vitoria Guimaraes on Thursday.
