We Are Working Tirelessly To Tackle Insecurity in South East, Says Defence Minister

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to ending insecurity in the South East, with the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, pledging a continued crackdown on all forms of unrest in the region.

During a visit to Enugu State on Saturday, Badaru addressed military personnel, emphasizing that under President Tinubu’s leadership, the government is determined to restore peace and security.

He stressed that a secure environment is essential for fostering business growth and ensuring societal peace.

“There is a renewed determination to intensify our efforts against all forms of insecurity in the South East,” Badaru stated.

 

The Defence Minister called on soldiers to step up their efforts in combating the growing insecurity that has plagued the South East in recent years.

 

He pointed to the government’s broader objective of creating a stable environment for both community development and business expansion.

In his remarks, Badaru also commended the support from regional leaders, notably Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who has been instrumental in assisting military operations.

 

“We are determined to end insecurity in Nigeria,” he declared, affirming that recent military successes over the past year were a testament to the government’s unwavering resolve.
