Video: Tinubu Briefly Stumbles During Reception Parade in Turkey
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday briefly stumbled during a ceremonial march-past organised in his honour at a parade ground in Türkiye.
The incident occurred while the Nigerian leader was inspecting the guard of honour as part of official reception activities. A video of the moment, which has since circulated on social media, shows President Tinubu momentarily losing his footing before quickly regaining balance and continuing the ceremony without assistance.
Officials present at the event appeared unfazed, and the parade proceeded as scheduled. The Presidency has not indicated that the brief stumble affected the President’s health or the rest of his official engagements.
President Tinubu is in Türkiye on an official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the Turkish government. His itinerary includes meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and engagements with business leaders to discuss investment opportunities and bilateral cooperation.
The brief incident has attracted public attention online, though many commentators noted that the President promptly recovered and carried on with the programme.
