Video Of Afe Babalola Dancing At 95th Birthday Goes Viral Amid Dele Farotimi’s Detention

Amid the controversial charge of defamation against human rights activist, Dele Farotimi and his continued detention by the Ekiti State Police Command, the video of the 95th birthday of legal luminary Aare Afe Babalola, on whose order Dele Farotimi is being detained, has gone viral.

Although, Afe Babalola celebrated his birthday in October, as he was born on October 30, 1929, the video went viral amid the controversial detention of Farotimi on the ground of criminal defamation.

While various groups have vowed to protest Farotimi’s detention, the Ekiti State police command has banned any form of protest in the state.

The video of the birthday shared on social media shows Afe Babalola dancing to the music of Chief Sunny Ade.

Society watch reports that Afe Babalola chambers issued a statement weekend stating that public outcry won’t stop the legal luminary from prosecuting the human rights activist.
