Truck–Tanker Collision Triggers Fatal Gas Explosion in Lagos

A massive gas explosion has occurred in the Ajah area of Lagos after a truck reportedly collided with a gas tanker, sparking a fire that destroyed several properties and caused panic among residents.

Eyewitnesses said the collision caused the tanker to leak gas, which later ignited and led to a powerful explosion that sent thick smoke into the sky and engulfed nearby buildings and vehicles in flames.

Emergency responders, including officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, quickly arrived at the scene to contain the fire and assist victims.

Authorities confirmed that the explosion resulted in casualties and significant property damage, although the exact number of victims has yet to be officially disclosed.

Residents have been advised to avoid the affected area as emergency teams continue rescue operations and assess the extent of the damage in Nigeria.
