Tinubu-Shettima: We’ll Not Repeat Mistake Of Not Voting APC In 2015, 2019 – South-South Groups
2 min readA coalition of South South support groups of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has vowed not to allow what happened in the 2015 and 2019 elections where people from the zone did not vote the party, APC, to repeat itself in the 2023 elections.
The groups resolved to embark on aggressive sensitization and campaigns in the wards and units across the zone for the emergence of their presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as other candidates of the party in the State during the 2023 elections.
The Chairman of the Coalition, Akwa Ibom State chapter, Rt Hon Patty Etete Inemeh disclosed this on weekend during South South APC Mini Rally held in Uyo, the State capital.
Inemeh urged the support groups to get ready for the mass movement and sensitization in the wards and units across the State so that people at the grassroots would be encouraged to vote all the APC candidates, even as he lauded the virtues of the APC Presidential candidate, Ahmed Tinubu.

He words, “I urge all members to get ready for a mass mobilisation movement that will soon hit all the local government, wards, units, nooks and crannies of the State.
“It will be of the best interest of our people to support the APC presidential flagbearer, His Excellency Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice presidential candidate, HE Sen Kashim Shettima considering their lofty virtues.
”I also acknowledge the complimentary support of the Leader of APC in Akwa Ibom State, Sen Godswill Akpabio. I encourage you to be the torchlight bearers to highlight the need to vote and work for all APC candidates in the State from Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president, Senator Godswil Akpabio and Obong Akan Udofia as the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State.”
Also speaking, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor in his remarks noted that the South-South was suffering because its people did not vote for APC in 2015 and 2019.
According to him, “We need to redouble our strength in South-South. 2015 we did not deliver for President Muhammadu Buhari and we paid for it.
“We must see this as a challenge to deliver South-South to Tinubu-Shettima in 2023 and l say to you we have good products in our presidential candidate.
“It is evident to all of us that our region, the South-South is a peculiarly difficult one with respect to our party because the APC has only one State out of the six States in the region while the PDP has five States,” he said.
Among the dignitaries was the wife of Senator Godswill Akpabio, Mrs Unoma Akpabio who represented her husband and reeled out the good qualities of Ahmed Tinubu.
