Tinubu Sacks Five Ministers

In a major shake-up, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed five ministers from his cabinet as part of a broader strategy to improve government efficiency.
This announcement was made on Wednesday by Dada Olusegun, the President’s Special Adviser on Social Media.
The ministers removed from their posts include Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (State for Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth Development).

The President’s statement emphasized a commitment to deliver on promises to Nigerians, stating, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has approved the immediate implementation of eight far-reaching actions to reinvigorate the Administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency.”
Among the actions detailed are the renaming of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development to the Ministry of Regional Development and the merging of the Federal Ministries of Tourism and Arts and Culture into one entity. Additionally, ten ministers are being reassigned to new portfolios, and seven new ministers are set for Senate confirmation.
New appointments include Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. The changes reflect a strategic effort to streamline operations and improve service delivery within the administration.
