Tinubu Appoints Abiola’s Son SSA On Linguistics, Foreign Matters
1 min readPresident Bola Tinubu has appointed Jamiu Abiola as his Senior Special Assistant on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.
The appointment, which took effect on November 14, 2024, was confirmed in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Jamiu Abiola, son of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, whose 1993 presidential election victory was annulled, previously served as the Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice-President.

His new role sees him working closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to leverage his expertise for national and international diplomacy.
In the statement, Imohiosen emphasized that the appointment aligns with the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act of 2008, as amended.
President Tinubu has tasked Abiola to apply his wealth of experience in his new assignment, contributing significantly to the nation’s diplomatic efforts.
