Things Women With Beautiful Skin Do Before Going To Bed
2 min readGetting your beauty sleep is vital, but what you do before you sleep off makes a difference in your complexion too. These quick pre-bedtime tips will leave your skin smoother and more radiant by the time you wake up.
1. Cleanse twice every night
This is because twelve- to 24-hour foundations, mascaras, eyeliners, and eyeshadows are all made with polymers that don’t readily dissolve with soap and water or waterbased makeup remover. So to make sure everything comes off your face, cleanse the face twice.
2. Exfoliate your skin
If your skin looks dull and lifeless, chances are dead skin cells are to blame.
To keep these dead cells away, use an alpha hydroxy acidbased cleanser at least twice a week, which will leave you with glowing, smooth skin. If you’re double cleansing, make this your second step.
3. Give your skin moisture
Moisturisers plump up the skin, softening the appearance of fine lines and creating a smoother appearance.
Plus, they soothe your skin after you exfoliate. At bedtime, apply a moisturiser. It will help tighten your skin.
4. Sleep on your back
If you fall asleep on your stomach or side, pillows and sheets can leave not-so-pretty indentations on your cheeks when you wake up in the morning.
Even worse, can lead to wrinkles. Sleeping on your back, not only keeps your face free of fine lines, but it also props your head up just so to keep fluids from pooling in your eyes and creating unsightly bags and preventing under-eye puffiness.
5. Use cold eye cream
You may already be applying your eye cream religiously, but I bet you did not know it works better when it’s cold.
Keep your eye cream in the refrigerator and apply before going to bed to decrease morning puffiness.
6. Exfoliate your lips
If you want to wake up with soft, kissable lips, just use a lip scrub before heading to bed.
After rinsing it off, use a lip balm that will moisturise your exfoliated lips while you sleep.
