TCN announces 10-day maintenance exercise at Gombe substation

Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has announced a 10-day scheduled maintenance exercise on its Gombe State transmission substation.

TCN disclosed this in a statement by its spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, on Tuesday.

The federal government said the maintenance exercise would take effect from October 14 to 24, 2025, from 9 am to 4 pm daily.

It, however, said that the exercise would not affect bulk electricity supply to Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC).

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) hereby states that its maintenance crew will carry out scheduled preventive maintenance at its Gombe 132/33 kV Transmission Substation from October 14 to 24, 2025, from 9 am to 4 pm daily.

“This is to enable our engineers to work on Shongo 33kV Feeder 8 and replace the protection and control panels with new ones.

Kindly note that there will be no load loss on the Shongo 33 kV feeder, as the load will be transferred to the Darazo 33 kV feeder, while the load on the Mallam Sidi feeder will be transferred to the Doma 33 kV feeder 6.

“This means that there will be no bulk power interruption to Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) all through the period of maintenance,” TCN stated.
