Sokoto Governor Denies Attempts To Kidnap Of School Students

Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto State has debunked the report of an attempted abduction of some Sani Dingyadi Secondary School students.
The governor, who promptly rushed to the school, told journalists that the incident was about a motorcycle thieve that ran into the school premises while he was being chased by a group of people.

According to Tambuwal, “The incident involved a motorbike thief who ran into the school when he was chased by some people.
“In the ensuing melee, there was an unexpected entrance of the pursuers into the school premises, which scared the students, some of who called their parents thinking it was a case of kidnapping.”
The governor thereafter addressed the students and assured them of his government’s determination to ensure their safety at all times
He also called on the people of the area not to panic and go about their lawful businesses without fear.
Tambuwal also indicated that the state Commissioner of Police and other security agencies in the state were on top of the situation.
