Senator Meets Defence Minister Over Insecurity In Southern Kaduna
Senator Sunday Marshall Katung has met with Nigeria’s Minister of Defence to discuss the persistent insecurity affecting communities in Southern Kaduna.
The lawmaker, who represents Kaduna South Senatorial District, raised concerns over recurring attacks and violence in parts of the region, calling for stronger federal intervention to restore peace and protect residents.
During the meeting, Katung reportedly highlighted the urgent need for enhanced security presence and improved coordination among security agencies operating in the area.
He emphasized that communities in Southern Kaduna have continued to face security challenges, including attacks by armed groups, which have displaced residents and disrupted normal life.
The senator urged the federal government to intensify efforts to address the situation and ensure the safety of people living in the affected communities.
In response, the Defence Minister assured that the federal government remains committed to tackling insecurity across the country and strengthening military operations where necessary.
The meeting forms part of ongoing engagements between political leaders and security authorities aimed at finding lasting solutions to the security challenges in Southern Kaduna and other parts of the country.
