Sanwo-Olu Is Lagos State Next Governor
1 min readThe candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won in all the 20 local government areas in the state.
In a landslide victory, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, at about 7 05.PM, declared the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu winner in the March 9, Governorship poll in Lagos.
Sanwoolu defeated his closest rival, Mr Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with a wide margin of 533,304 votes.
After, meticulously collating the results, INEC State Returning Officer, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede declared that having polled 739, 445 votes, Sanwo-Olu of the APC has been declared winner in the exercise.
He announced that Agbaje of the PDP, polled 206,141 votes in a contest conducted across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
Similarly, the APC won all the 40 state House of Assembly seats in the state.
