Sacked Women Affairs Minister Resumes Law Practice, Takes Over Case Of 5-Year-Girl Abused By Teacher
1 min readFormer Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye, has announced her appearance in court to represent a five-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually abused by her class teacher.
The ex-minister in a post on X on Tuesday said as a lawyer and advocate for women’s right, she is committed to fighting for a a better society and eradicating all forms of abuse against vulnerable Nigerians, including children.
Kennedy-Ohaneye was removed from office by President Bola Tinubu as part of a major cabinet reshuffle that saw four ministers leaving the cabinet.

She expressed her passion for justice and her determination to combat heinous crimes like the one she represented in court.
She wrote, “I remain committed to fighting for a better society. My passion for justice remains unwavering, and I will not tolerate any form of abuse, especially against vulnerable Nigerians, including children.
“Today, I represented a heart-wrenching case involving a five-year-old girl who was sexually abused by her class teacher. This incident strengthens my resolve to combat such heinous crimes.
“To those who would dare perpetrate such atrocities, let this serve as a warning. I will pursue justice relentlessly in my capacity.”
