Real Reason Gospel Singer, Atorise Married A Muslim

Having the same religious and spiritual beliefs are part of the criteria many people use when seeking a marriage partner. They feel strongly that the person they are going to marry should have the same traditions and customs, and intensity of belief as they themselves do. For them, it is an integral part of marriage. But to Lanre Teriba fondly called Atorise who is a respected gospel act in the country, especially in South-West, he did not see marriage from that light. Rather, he believes that marriage is about mutual understanding that has nothing to do with doctrines or denominations. For over a decade now, the artiste has stayed glued to his wife, Rukayat, a Muslim amidst controversy.
Justifying his action, this is what Atorise told ‘SocietyWatchng.com’ during a chit-chat: “I think there is no big deal marrying a Muslim since the person is a god-fearing person. We love each other and we never allow our different religion affect our matrimonial home. She does her thing while I go for my ministerial work. Our God is a God of love that deals with individual according to our deeds, heart and capabilities.”
