Ramadan: Yobe Gov Approves Food Distribution to Vulnerable Households

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the distribution of food items to vulnerable households across the state as part of preparations for the upcoming Ramadan fasting period.

The state government announced that the intervention targets residents in all 17 local government areas, with essential food items, including rice and other staples, set to be distributed to ease the economic burden on low-income families.

According to officials, the Ramadan palliative programme is aimed at supporting vulnerable groups and ensuring food security during the fasting season, especially amid rising living costs affecting many households.

The government stated that relevant agencies have been directed to ensure transparency and fairness in the distribution process so that the assistance reaches intended beneficiaries.

Governor Buni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to social welfare programmes, noting that the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship while promoting communal support during the holy month.
