Presidency Refutes Report of Tinubu’s Planned Visit to U.S

The Presidency has dismissed reports suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit the United States this week for a meeting with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, described the viral report as false and misleading.

Ajayi clarified that no such trip has been planned or announced through official channels, stressing that any presidential engagements or foreign visits are always communicated through credible and authorised sources.

There’s a Sahara Reporters story claiming that President Tinubu will travel to the United States on Tuesday to meet U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. That story is not true,” Ajayi stated.

He further explained that if President Tinubu were to visit the White House, he would meet with the U.S. President and not the Vice President.

The clarification comes after social media posts and online reports claimed that the Nigerian leader was heading to Washington for a diplomatic meeting.

The Presidency urged the public to disregard such misinformation and rely solely on verified statements from the government regarding the President’s movements and engagements.
