The Federal Government has fulfilled its pledge of housing and land allocations to members of the Super Eagles following their impressive runner-up finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.

The presentation ceremony, which featured the allocation of housing units and plots of land to the players and officials, was held in Abuja as part of the government’s commitment to rewarding excellence and patriotism in sports. The pledge was earlier made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in recognition of the team’s outstanding performance and dedication while representing Nigeria on the continental stage.

Officials of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development confirmed that the beneficiaries have been duly documented, with processes put in place to ensure smooth possession of the houses and land titles.

Speaking at the event, government representatives commended the Super Eagles for their resilience, teamwork, and fighting spirit throughout the tournament, noting that their performance rekindled national pride and unity among Nigerians.

Members of the Super Eagles expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for honouring its promise, describing the gesture as a strong motivation for athletes to continue giving their best in service to the nation.

The fulfilment of the pledge underscores the Federal Government’s resolve to support sports development and recognise athletes who bring honour to the country.
