Peter Obi Slams Tinubu Govt Over NNPC’s Secrecy, Fuel Scarcity
1 min readFormer presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticized the Tinubu administration for shrouding the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in secrecy.
Obi demanded transparency in the company’s activities, financial dealings, and future plans.
According to Obi, “Nigerians must stop at nothing in demanding transparency in the operations of government, especially critical agencies like the state-owned NNPCL, whose activities appear to be shrouded in secrecy.”

Obi questioned the conflicting reports on subsidy payments and NNPCL’s claim of “financial constraints” despite declaring a ₦3 trillion profit in 2023.
He called for greater transparency and accountability, saying, “We should not rest until we uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable. The Nigerian people deserve better.”
