#Panama Papers: Ambode’s Commissioner, Folly Coker in £1.65m house scam in London
1 min readAs the Panama paper leaks continue to reveal hidden properties of the Rich and Famous across the world, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Folarin Coker has been named in the scam.
A £1.65m townhouse in Kensington and Chelsea is shown as belonging to a BVI company whose sole shareholder is Folorunsho Coker.
Folly Coker, as he is fondly called by his admirers since he returned from London has worked as personal assistant to former Governor of Lagos state, Mr. Bola Tinubu, deputy-chief of staff, special adviser to Fashola and was a former head of the number plate production authority of the state of Lagos.
His multi billion assets: Lacassa, Brown Cafe in Ikeja and other estates scattered across the state including the ones that he is said to be holding in trust for close ally and political leaders in the state. The news of Folarin Coker’s stupendous wealth is being discussed in hushed tones in government circle since the news broke. It is not yet clear how he came about such humongous wealth.
Effort to confirm the authenticity of the news from Coker and how he came about such wealth was unsuccessful. An SMS sent to his mobile number was not responded to as at the time of filling this report.
Investigation revealed that Folly Coker is working in concert with some “powerful individuals” to destroy his asset declaration forms in Code of Conduct Bureau to cover his track.
