Oyebamiji Meets Tinubu, Pledges Unity in Osun APC Ahead of 2026 Poll

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, on Tuesday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, reaffirming his commitment to fostering unity within the party ahead of the 2026 off-cycle governorship election.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Oyebamiji described the visit as a strategic consultation aimed at strengthening party cohesion and aligning the state chapter with the broader vision of the APC at the national level.

He emphasized that unity among party stakeholders remains critical to reclaiming power in Osun in 2026, noting that internal reconciliation and collective mobilisation would be central to the party’s campaign strategy.

> “Our focus is to build a united front that will inspire confidence among our members and the people of Osun. We are committed to reconciliation, inclusiveness, and effective engagement across all levels of the party,” he said.

Oyebamiji also expressed appreciation for the President’s support and guidance, stating that the APC in Osun would draw from the administration’s development agenda to articulate a people-centered manifesto for the state.

Sources within the party disclosed that discussions during the meeting centered on electoral preparedness, grassroots mobilisation, and strategies to consolidate APC structures across local governments in the state.

President Tinubu, according to party insiders, encouraged party leaders in Osun to close ranks and avoid internal divisions that could weaken their electoral prospects. He reportedly stressed the importance of discipline, loyalty, and teamwork as the 2026 election approaches.

The Osun governorship poll is scheduled as an off-cycle election, separate from the general elections cycle in Nigeria. Political observers say early consultations and reconciliation moves may shape the dynamics of the contest in the coming months.

Party stakeholders have welcomed the meeting, describing it as a positive signal of renewed commitment to unity within the Osun APC.
