Osimhen Not Leaving AFCON Camp, Outburst With Lookman Settled — NFF Official
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has dismissed reports suggesting that Victor Osimhen is set to leave the Super Eagles’ camp at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), confirming that the forward remains fully committed to the team.
An NFF official said concerns over an alleged outburst between Osimhen and fellow forward Ademola Lookman have been resolved internally, describing the incident as a minor disagreement that has since been settled.
“There is no issue that will affect the team. Osimhen is not leaving the camp, and the situation with Lookman has been amicably resolved,” the official said.
According to the federation, both players have moved past the incident and are focused on Nigeria’s campaign at the tournament, with team unity and discipline intact.
The clarification comes amid heightened speculation on social media following reports of tension within the squad. However, the NFF stressed that such moments are not uncommon in competitive environments and should not be exaggerated.
Osimhen, one of Nigeria’s key players, is expected to play a central role as the Super Eagles continue their push for success at the AFCON tournament.
The Super Eagles’ coaching crew and team management have also urged fans to remain calm and continue supporting the team as they prepare for their next fixture.
