Ondo Govt Commences Payment Of N133,400 Monthly Allowance To Corps Members

The Executive Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the payment of N10,000 as a state allowance to corps members, while corps doctors will receive N133,400.

 

This development was announced in a statement published on the official social media page of NYSC Ondo.

According to the statement, Gov Aiyedatiwa, had during the Swearing in Ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ (Stream 1) corps members deployed to the Sunshine State gave the order that corps members serving in public institutions be paid allowance to cushion the effect of the modern day economic situation and to motivate them to give more to the society.

The Governor’s approval for the commencement which was contained in a circular from the Office of Establishment and Training, Governor’s Office, and signed by Mrs. R. O. Dare-Atunse, the Permanent Secretary, said that a monthly allowance of One hundred and Thirty-three Thousand, Four Hundred Naira (#133,400) only for each NYSC Medical Doctor serving in the State.

Part’s of the statement reads, “In addition to this, corps members serving in Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government are to henceforth receive Ten Thousand Naira (#10,000) monthly as stipend.

 

 

 

“Reacting to this positive development, the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple thanked the Governor for this gesture which will go a long way to ameliorate the challenges corps members serving in the state are facing.

“The State Coordinator, therefore, called on all corps members serving in public institutions in the state to redouble their efforts and reciprocate the profound gesture of the Aiyedatiwa led administration in the Sunshine State.

 

“Pepple, therefore enjoined other Corps Employers, notably Organised Private Sectors, Non-Governmental Organisations and National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools as well as others who enjoy the services of members of the service corps to enhance allowance payable to them.

 

“It would be recalled that the NYSC Ondo State boss, upon assumption of duty in April commenced aggressive advocacy visits to ensure restoration of corps members allowance to government functionaries such as Chief of Staff to the Governor, Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, Honourable Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Chairmen of Statutory Boards and Agencies, Leaders of thought in the State as well as key Stakeholders in Government.”
