Ogun Disburses ₦500m To Cooperatives, Urges Accountability
The Ogun State Government has disbursed ₦500 million to cooperative societies across the state as part of efforts to support small businesses and boost economic activities.
State officials said the fund, distributed under the Ogun Cooperatives Support Fund, is aimed at strengthening micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and improving access to financial assistance for grassroots entrepreneurs.
Speaking during the disbursement, government representatives urged beneficiaries to ensure transparency, accountability and prompt repayment so that more cooperatives and businesses can benefit from the initiative.
The government noted that the intervention forms part of its broader strategy to empower local businesses, stimulate job creation and promote economic growth across the state.
Beneficiaries were also advised to utilise the funds strictly for business development, warning that proper monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to ensure compliance.
