The Ogun II Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reported an impressive revenue generation of over N4.335 billion for the month of January 2025, marking a remarkable 104% increase compared to the same period last year.
The Command’s Area Controller, Comptroller Olusola Bisi made the announcement during a press briefing held on Thursday at the Ogun II Area Command.
According to Comptroller Bisi, the N4,335,323,323.53 generated in January 2025 is a testament to the Command’s unwavering commitment to national economic growth.
He emphasized that this achievement underscores the tireless efforts of the Ogun Customs personnel who have worked diligently to meet and exceed their revenue targets.

“This achievement is not just about the numbers; it is a reflection of the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of our operatives,” Comptroller Bisi said.
“It is through their focus, discipline, and teamwork that we have achieved this remarkable milestone.”
Bisi further highlighted that a significant portion of the Command’s revenue is attributed to the improvements in operations within Ogun’s Free Trade Zones, particularly the bonded terminals.
He noted that the command’s efforts to enhance customs processes and increase compliance from businesses have played a pivotal role in boosting revenue collections.
The Ogun II Area Command’s January revenue collections surged to N4,335,323,323.53, compared to N2,135,276,673.86 in January 2024, marking a differential of N1,865,058,649.67.
This represents a 104% increase over the previous year’s performance. Bisi praised the proactive approach of the Command’s operatives, noting their contribution to the Command’s overall revenue generation of N12,830,493,630.06 during the review period.
The Comptroller also disclosed that the Command had recently uncovered four unauthorized factories operating without the necessary licenses and permits.
The factories, identified as Evita Moore, Lekan Industries, Scarlet Eagle Limited, and IBK Ventures, were promptly brought under excise control following the discovery.
“The enforcement of excise control on these factories is a key example of how we ensure compliance with regulatory standards in all sectors,” Bisi said, adding that the Command would continue to intensify its efforts to ensure that all businesses operate within the boundaries of the law.
Furthermore, the Ogun Customs boss credited the achievements to the effective synergy, leadership, and collaboration within the Command.
He commended the role of the Customs Intelligence Unit and the Customs Police Unit, both of which have played crucial roles in the successful operations of the Command.
Bisi reiterated that the Command’s impressive results are in line with the overarching policy goals of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
He said under Adeniyi’s leadership, the Nigeria Customs Service has prioritized consolidation, collaboration, and innovation as essential components in advancing the Customs Service’s objectives.
“Our achievement is a direct reflection of the CGC’s vision for the Nigeria Customs Service,” Bisi explained.
“His leadership has provided the necessary support and guidance to help us reach these outstanding results.”
He also assured stakeholders and the public that the Ogun II Area Command would continue its efforts to engage with local businesses and communities, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in achieving the Command’s goals.
This includes ensuring that factories and businesses comply with their fiscal responsibilities, such as the timely payment of excise duties and other charges.
“My sincere appreciation goes to the CGC and the Nigeria Customs Service Management for creating an enabling environment that has made this achievement possible,” Bisi concluded.
“I also want to express my deep gratitude to our critical stakeholders for their continued collaboration and support in helping us fulfill our mandate.”
Looking ahead, Bisi called for the continued cooperation of businesses within the state, urging them to meet their fiscal obligations promptly and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
He affirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining its high standards of service, while enhancing Nigeria’s economic growth through efficient and effective revenue collection.
