NYSC: Youth Minister Hails Buhari Over N33,000 Allowance For Corps Members
1 min readMinister of Youth and Sport Development, Sunday Dare has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for implementing the increase in the monthly allowance of Youth Corp members.
The Federal government on Friday began the payment of N33,000 monthly allowance to corps members.
The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim on Wednesday disclosed the new figures as increased by the Federal Government.
The Director had confirmed that the sum of thirty-three thousand naira was approved for the Corps members in line with the new National Minimum Wage review
Some Nigerians commended the Federal government for putting smiles on the faces of corp members.
But some hilariously asked if they could serve again while others asked if there will be arrears for old corp members.
Reacting to the development, Dare described approval as a validation of ‘Buhari’s commitment to the development of Nigeria’s Youth.”
The minister on his Twitter page wrote: “Promise kept as NYSC members receive 33k allowee: Many thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari for fulfilling his promise to pay NYSC members the new 33k allowance.
“This is a validation of your commitment to the development of Nigeria’s Youth.”
Meanwhile, NYSC is yet to confirm if arrears will be paid to corps members.
