NYSC DG Urges Corps Members To Adapt To New Environments
1 min readThe Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps, Brig.-Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, has advised corps members to adapt to their new environments and make a positive impact in their host communities.
Ahmed stated this during his visit to the NYSC temporary orientation camp in Kaduna, where he addressed corps members of the 2024 Batch ‘C stream ‘I’.
“Life does not end in your communities; find a home anywhere you are posted to. “You must find a sense of belonging wherever you are posted, and such a mindset is crucial for a successful service year.”

He urged the corps members to focus on making a positive impact in their host communities, respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities, and take their security seriously.
“Your security is our concern, but no one can secure you more than yourself,” Ahmed warned.
The NYSC boss also emphasised the importance of skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development of the scheme, urging the corps members to take advantage of the programme to become self-reliant and job creators after their service year.
“Skills acquisition is designed to make you independent, self-reliant, and productive,” Ahmed said.
