NSCDC Arrested 4,677 Suspects, Generated ₦4.5bn — Outgoing CG

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, has revealed that the corps arrested 4,677 suspects and generated about ₦4.5 billion in revenue during his tenure.

Speaking while highlighting achievements ahead of his exit from office, Audi said the NSCDC also successfully thwarted 48 planned school kidnapping attempts across the country, describing the feat as part of intensified efforts to protect critical national assets and vulnerable communities.

According to him, the arrests were linked to various offences including vandalism, illegal mining, oil theft, and other economic sabotage activities. He noted that strengthened intelligence gathering and collaboration with other security agencies contributed significantly to the successes recorded under his leadership.

The outgoing Commandant General added that the revenue generated came from licensing, operational activities, and enforcement actions carried out by the corps within the period under review.

Audi reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to safeguarding schools, infrastructure, and communities, stressing that sustained security reforms and personnel training helped improve operational efficiency nationwide.

He urged officers and men of the corps to maintain professionalism and continue supporting national security objectives as leadership transitions within the organisation.
