No Rift Between Kwankwaso And I – Gov Yusuf

The governor of Kano state, Abba Yusuf, has insisted there is not rift between him and his political mentor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Yusuf said this on Wednesday while addressing journalists in Kano.
The governor was adamant that his relationship with Kwankwaso remains strong and respectful, stressing it has been so for the past 40 years.

The statement comes after an allegation that Kwankwaso exerts excessive influence over Yusuf’s administration.
Some also claimed the Kano ex-Governor dictates policy decisions to the Governor.
Yusuf, however, dismissed the allegations, emphasising his autonomy.
He also underscored his gratitude and loyalty to Kwankwaso.
“There is no truth in the rumours of a misunderstanding between us,” Yusuf said.
“It’s as if people do not understand the role Kwankwaso has played. Where were these critics when he was laying the foundation for what we are doing now?”
