No Area’ll Be Neglected In Lagos – Gov
2 min readThe Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, says his administration will not leave anyone or any area of the state behind, adding that his government is an all-inclusive government.
The governor stated this on Tuesday in his speech read by his representatives during the inauguration of some projects in five local government areas and local development council areas of the state.
Ambode said, “We have worked to promote active collaboration among all tiers of government with community development as the centrepiece.
“As a result, we have initiated a reform of the local government system for local government areas to provide basic infrastructure for the people with the active involvement of the communities.
“We have also initiated the capacity building of the community development associations for participatory project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation towards ensuring the sustainability of the projects and programmes in the state.”
In the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, the governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Muslim Folami, inaugurated Brown Street road in Oshodi; Okota road in Isolo and a police post in Ejigbo.
In the Ifako-Ijaye LGA, the governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Folorunsho Coker, inaugurated roads on Oluwasijibomi and Folorunsho streets and the Iju Primary Health Care Centre, saying the era of spending tax payers money on white elephant projects was gone in the state.
In the Alimosho LGA, the governor inaugurated the Mosan Okunola Mini Waterworks after over 20 years of being moribund.
Represented by the Group Managing Director of the Lagos State Water Corporation, Muminu Badmus, Ambode said the state had 33 mini waterworks and five major waterworks.
In the Ojo LGA, the governor inaugurated Usman Mogaji Road and a data-capturing centre.
Represented by the Special Adviser on Urban Development, Mrs. Yetunde Onabolu, Ambode said his administration would not renege on the promise to run a transparent government.
In the Amuwo Odofin LGA, the governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Lola Akande, handed 10 fibre boats to some communities.
