Nigerian Striker Assists Club In Recording First Win In 21 Years
1 min read21-year-old Nigerian U23 attacker, Dennis Emmanuel Bonaventure of Belgium side Club Brugge, went live on Instagram as Club Brugge celebrated their first win in 21 years at Anderlecht.
Dennis scored his team’s second goal in a 3-2 win at Anderlecht to sustain pressure on Genk in the Belgian championship playoffs Thursday. Although his goal had to be decided by VAR, the striker couldn’t care less, as long as he was part of breaking the jinx.
Taking to twitter also, he tweeted:
“Where is that now with those 21 years, 21 years bye bye,” Dennis celebrated live on Instagram.
“After 21 years finally we broke the curse. The goal is for my mum and dad. All glory to almighty God.”
Dennis lived up to his pre-match boast that Club Brugge’s winless run at Anderlecht will not be forever.
His club are the defending champions of Belgium and they are now just a point behind playoff leaders Genk, who lost 1-0 at Antwerp.
