Nigerian Prolific Striker Rejects Manchester United’s Offer
1 min readProlific Nigerian striker, Ademipo Odubeko, rejected new contract offer from Manchester United and will bid farewell to the club at the end of this month, according to Allnigeriasoccer.com.
He would have been a first-year scholar at Old Trafford next season but has rejected a contract offer from the club.
The 16-year-old followed in the footsteps of another Nigerian, Tosin Kehinde, who opted to leave Old Trafford last summer because there were no guarantees he would break into the first team.
Odubeko relocated to England with his parents in August 2015 on the invitation of Manchester City, where he spent five months before he was snapped up by Manchester United.
Two players of Nigerian descent, Ayodeji Sotona and Dillon Hoogewerf, have, however, agreed scholarship contracts with Manchester United.
