New Imo Governor, Emeka Ihedioha Begins Demolition Of Structures Built By Rochas Okorocha
1 min readBarely 24 hours after assuming office, the new Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha has begun the demolition of monuments built by his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha.
The first monument to be destroyed is the Akachi tower, one of the many tourist attractions built by the former governor and was commissioned by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo a week ago. The Akachi Tower was built on a reclaimed dumpsite that was abandoned by previous administrations.
It is believed that the statues Okorocha erected during his tenure would also be demolished, including the statue of former Soth African president, Jacob Zuma.
