NDLEA Intercepts 125 Bags of Cannabis in Edo
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 125 bags of cannabis in Edo State, in a major crackdown on illicit drug activities.
The agency disclosed that the seizure, weighing approximately 1,378 kilograms of skunk, was made during a targeted raid on a warehouse suspected to be used for storing illegal substances.
According to NDLEA officials, one suspect was arrested in connection with the operation, while investigations are ongoing to uncover other individuals linked to the drug network.
The agency described the operation as part of its sustained efforts to combat drug trafficking and reduce the availability of illicit substances across the country.
Authorities noted that the large quantity of cannabis seized underscores the scale of drug-related activities and the need for continued vigilance and enforcement.
The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations nationwide, warning that individuals involved in drug trafficking would face the full weight of the law.
Residents have been encouraged to provide useful information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts in tackling drug-related crimes.
The latest interception highlights the agency’s ongoing campaign to curb the distribution and abuse of narcotics in Nigeria.
