Natasha Shares Christmas Rice, Others in Five Kogi LGAs
Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has distributed over 2,000 bags of Christmas rice and other food items to residents across five local government areas (LGAs) of Kogi State as part of efforts to ease the economic hardship faced by families during the festive season.
The distribution, which took place across LGAs in Kogi Central Senatorial District, targeted vulnerable households, including widows, the elderly, and low-income families. According to the senator, the initiative was aimed at ensuring that more residents could celebrate Christmas with a sense of relief despite prevailing economic challenges.
Speaking during the outreach, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the gesture was in line with her commitment to the welfare of her constituents, especially at a time when the rising cost of living has placed pressure on many families. She noted that leadership should go beyond legislation to include direct support that impacts lives at the grassroots.
Beneficiaries, community leaders, and party stakeholders who attended the exercise commended the senator for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. They said the distribution would help cushion the effects of food inflation during the holiday period.
The lawmaker reaffirmed her resolve to continue implementing people-focused initiatives across Kogi Central, stressing that her office remains committed to improving the living conditions of residents through both legislative action and social interventions.
