Liverpool Can Still Do Special Things, Says Slot
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has expressed confidence that his team can still achieve “special things” this season despite an inconsistent start to their title defence.
Speaking after recent mixed results, Slot admitted that Liverpool have not been as consistent as expected but insisted there is no cause for panic. The Dutch coach stressed that the quality within the squad, combined with hard work and belief, gives him confidence the Reds can still compete at the highest level.
“We haven’t been perfect, that’s clear, but this group has the mentality and talent to do special things,” Slot said. “The season is long, and what matters is how you respond to challenges.”
Liverpool have dropped points in matches where they were expected to dominate, raising questions about their ability to sustain a title challenge. However, Slot pointed to encouraging performances, squad depth and tactical progress as positives to build on in the coming weeks.
The former Feyenoord boss also called for patience from supporters, noting that transitions take time and consistency often develops as the season progresses.
“We are working every day to improve. I believe strongly in these players, and I’m convinced we will show our true level,” he added.
Liverpool will be aiming to rediscover their rhythm as they prepare for a crucial run of league and cup fixtures, with Slot hopeful that improved performances will translate into results and keep their ambitions firmly alive.
