Industrial Training Fund to Launch Artisans’ Skill Training Programme
The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), has announced plans to commence the 2026 edition of its Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) training programme aimed at improving the capacity of artisans across the country.
The initiative is designed to equip artisans with modern technical skills, enhance productivity, and promote professionalism within Nigeria’s informal sector.
According to the ITF, the programme will focus on upgrading the competencies of artisans in various trades while providing them with the knowledge required to meet industry standards and adapt to evolving technological demands.
Officials said the Skill Up Artisans programme forms part of broader efforts by the government to address unemployment and strengthen the country’s skilled workforce.
The ITF also noted that the training will help artisans improve the quality of their services, increase their earning potential, and contribute more effectively to economic growth.
Participants are expected to undergo structured training that combines practical learning with modern work practices to enhance their competitiveness in the labour market.
The programme is part of ongoing initiatives by the Federal Government to promote skills development, empower small-scale workers, and support sustainable economic development in Nigeria. 🔧🇳🇬
