Ibadan Indigenes Caution Fayose Over Claim of Plot to Remove Ladoja

Some Ibadan indigenes have cautioned former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, over his claims of an alleged plot by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

The group described Fayose’s allegations as reckless and unfounded, warning that such statements could create unnecessary tension within the traditional and political landscape of the state.

In a statement, the indigenes urged Fayose to refrain from making unverified claims, stressing the importance of preserving peace and respect for traditional institutions.

They expressed confidence in the existing leadership structure in Ibadanland, noting that due process must be followed in all matters relating to the throne.

The group also called on political actors to avoid statements capable of inciting division, emphasizing the need for unity and stability in the state.

Fayose had earlier alleged that there were moves to remove Oba Ladoja, a claim that has since generated reactions from various stakeholders.

Observers say the development highlights the sensitivity surrounding traditional leadership issues and the need for responsible public discourse.

Authorities have yet to issue an official response as discussions around the matter continue.
