How I Became Bauchi Governor-Elect Without Godfathers, Federal Might – Bala Mohammed
1 min readThe Bauchi State Governor-elect, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has said his victory at the just-concluded governorship election in the state was not as a result of influence of godfathers; but the support and votes of people state.
He made the remark yesterday when he inaugurated his legal team headed by Chris Uche (SAN), with over 50 senior lawyers that would defend him at the tribunal.
The governor-elect said, “I didn’t have the federal might, I didn’t have the money, I didn’t have godfathers but I have good people of Bauchi and I won it.
“To some, it is a miracle but to me, I know that God has power to do anything. We are ready to go through the process (litigations). I know that only God determines who goes to the government house; Bauchi people have spoken and I appreciate the support they gave me,” he said.
He urged the leader of the legal team to use his wealth of experience as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to defend the mandate given to him by the people of Bauchi State.
He also promised that he would provide good governance through an all-inclusive government.
Mohammed, who won the governorship under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is being challenged by Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of the APC, as well as candidates of APP and PDM.
