HOW I BECAME A DROP-OUT – EGO
1 min readEgo Ogbaro is no doubt a good musician blessed with sonorous voice. She knows the art of music more than some of her peers. Music enthusiasts love her brand. And even without a single album, the former Lagbaja’s back-up singer emerged as an ambassador of one of Nigeria’s telecommunication giants, Globacom, a feat many established musicians would labour to achieve all the days of their lives.
But with this reputation and lovely career, one thing unknown to many is that this dread-locked wearing actress does not possess a university degree unlike some of her counterparts. She actually dropped out of school to pursue her musical career. According to her, she was in her third year when she quit schooling. “I went to the Lagos State University to read Public Administration, but I didn’t finish,” the Lagbaja ‘Nothing For You’ star recalled. “I left in my third year because we were traveling a lot. I didn’t want anybody to take my examinations for me, so I had to quit,” she said.
When asked whether she is nursing the ambition to return to school or not, she said “yeah, but I may not be studying Public Administration again.”
The lady who is currently married to Niyi Ogbaro is not the only celebrity who dropped out of school, 9ice, Tuface, Wizkid and many others also bonafide members of this club.
