Former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, rejected a mega offer from China, which would have seen him become the highest-earning African footballer.
The 28-year-old instead chose to join Premier League side, West Ham, on loan until the end of the season.
“The deal in China would have fetched him up to $8 million a year, all tax-free,” a source close to the player told African Football.
“But he preferred to move on loan to the EPL instead.”
Another source claimed that Emenike could still move to China after the season ends.
“He could still move to China in the summer. It all depends on how things go in England,” said the source.
