Gridlock As Gas Tanker Overturns On Lagos Road

A loaded gas tanker overturned in the Anthony Oke area of Lagos State on Wednesday, causing significant gridlock and blocking the main road.

 

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the incident occurred near Trem and personnel from the Lagos State Fire Service were deployed to the scene. Evacuation efforts have begun, and LASTMA officers are working to remove the tanker.

“A loaded gas tanker has overturned at Anthony Oke, near Trem, inward. Necessary action has been taken, and our officers are firmly positioned to divert traffic to alternative routes,” LASTMA said in a statement. “Members of the Lagos State Fire Service are also on the ground, and the evacuation process is expected to be carried out swiftly.”

 

Motorists have been advised to use the service lane after Anthony Oke to continue their journey or take alternative routes. Road users have also been urged to exercise patience as emergency services work to complete the recovery process.

The incident has caused significant gridlock in the area, and motorists are advised to avoid the route until the tanker is removed and the road is cleared.
