Ganduje’s Fate Hangs In Balance As APC Bigwigs Meet Sep 12
1 min readThe All Progressives Congress (APC) is set for a showdown as the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, faces opposition from within.
The party’s National Secretary, Dr. Surajudeen Ajibola, confirmed that Ganduje’s continued stay in office would be a major point of contention during the upcoming caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.
Chief Oliver Okpala, Ganduje’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, defended the chairman, saying, “Well-meaning members of the APC from the North Central zone should recognize the validity of Governor Sule’s endorsement of Ganduje.”

However, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, speaking on behalf of the North Central Forum of the APC, argued that the position of national chairman rightfully belongs to the North Central zone based on the party’s power-sharing arrangement. He accused Governor Sule of betraying his state and the North Central geopolitical zone by supporting Ganduje.
The NEC meeting, scheduled for September 12 at the Nicon Hilton Hotel Abuja, will be attended by top party officials, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Muhammadu Buhari, and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
