Fire Razes Six-Room Building in Kwara

Ilorin, Nigeria — A fire outbreak in Ilorin, Kwara State, has affected a six-room residential building, leaving two rooms severely damaged.

According to officials from the Kwara State Fire Service, the incident was triggered by a power surge, which sparked the blaze in the affected property. The fire reportedly spread quickly before emergency responders arrived at the scene.

Firefighters were able to contain the situation and prevent the flames from engulfing the entire building, thereby limiting the extent of destruction. No casualties were reported, although some residents were displaced and property losses were recorded.

Authorities have urged residents to take precautionary measures against electrical hazards, especially during periods of unstable power supply, which can lead to sudden surges.

The fire service reiterated its commitment to rapid response and public safety, while also advising households to install protective devices to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
