Fighting Coronavirus May Cost FG $2bn – Chrisland University VC
1 min readThe Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University and a leading pharmacist, Prof. Peace Chinedu-Babalola has urged the federal government to take precautionary measures to steer coronavirus away from Nigeria.
The first female professor of Pharmacy at the University of Ibadan warned that it could cost the federal government at least $2 billion (about N700 billion) to evolve any new medicine that would cure the virus.
She made this disclosure in an interview with THISDAY in Abeokuta after receiving the Kwame Nkruma Award for Scientific Excellence at the AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
She commended the government for releasing N386m for prevention of Coronavirus, however, she expressed that it is insufficient.
