FG Withdraws Criminal Charge Against Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
Abuja — The Federal Government has withdrawn the criminal charge filed against Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The withdrawal followed a notice of discontinuance filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, in suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/195/2025, between the Federal Government and Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The document, dated December 12, 2025, was filed by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) pursuant to Sections 108(1), 108(2)(a) and 108(5) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), 2015.
According to the notice, the Attorney-General’s office formally communicated its decision.
The Office of the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation intends to discontinue proceedings in this matter,” the notice stated.
With the filing of the notice, the criminal charge against the senator is effectively terminated, bringing the legal proceedings to an end.
Neither the Federal Government nor Akpoti-Uduaghan has publicly disclosed further details regarding the reasons for the withdrawal of the charge as of the time of filing this report.
The development marks the latest turn in the legal issues involving the Kogi Central lawmaker, who has remained active in legislative duties throughout the pendency of the case.
