FG Clarifies School Fees for Unity Schools, Debunks Increment Rumours

1 min read

The Federal Ministry of Education has dismissed rumors of an increase in school fees for federal government secondary schools, also known as Unity Schools.

A memo circulating on social media had suggested that new students would be required to pay a hefty sum, while old students would pay over N300,000.

However, the ministry has clarified that Unity Schools still offer free education, with the highest fees payable by students being N100,000 for new students, covering boarding fees, uniforms, textbooks, and other items.

The ministry described the circulating memo as “fraudulent and fake” and urged the public to disregard it.

The statement emphasized that tuition fees in all Unity Schools remain free, and any individual with doubts should check the ministry’s website or contact the principals of the nearest Unity School.
