EPL: Sarri Names Four Chelsea Players Blocking Hudson-Odoi From Starting XI
1 min readChelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has named four Blues’ players blocking winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi from featuring in his starting XI.
According to Sarri, Eden Hazard, Victor Moses, Pedro and Willian are blocking Hudson-Odoi from first team football because the 17-year-old is behind the forwards in his pecking order of wingers.
Speaking on Wednesday evening ahead of Chelsea’s Europa League opener against PAOK, Sarri refused to confirm whether the 17-year-old will play against the Greek giants.
”For Odoi I don’t know. In this position I am also in the last match played Pedro and Hazard but I have also players like Willian, Moses and so I don’t know tomorrow if it is time for Odoi or somebody else,” Sarri was quoted by Metro UK as saying.
“In the future there will be sure it is possible for him but Ampadu, Odoi, Loftus: they are the future of the squad but now we are 28 so I don’t know if tomorrow is the right time for Odoi.”
Hudson-Odoi, who is considered as Blues’ new Hazard, was one of Chelsea’s famed academy star.
The England U17 World Cup winning winger has made just only five appearances for Chelsea’s first team in 2018 since his debut against Newcastle United in the Premier League.
